Partner, Co-Chair Pharmaceutical Practice Group
Paul Richter has been practicing all aspects of intellectual property law for the past 25 years. Prior to joining Devlin Law Firm LLC, he spent most of his legal career as a partner in the NY office of Kenyon & Kenyon LLP, a patent litigation firm and IP boutique.
Paul focuses on litigating patent, trademark and trade secret cases as lead counsel in federal district court, at the ITC, and in appellate matters before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has litigated numerous patent cases across a wide variety of technologies, particularly in the pharmaceutical (Hatch-Waxman), medical device and biotechnology industries.
He regularly handles complex inter partes matters for his clients before the USPTO, including litigating IPRs, reexaminations, and interferences, as well as arguing cases before the USPTO Board of Appeals. Paul also utilizes his litigation background to aid in strategically guiding his clients in developing, drafting and prosecuting global patent portfolios.
Before starting law school, Paul worked as a chemical engineer conducting research, development and testing in the high explosives industry.
