Joseph J. Gribbin (“Joe”) is a Partner at Devlin Law Firm LLC. He was previously the Global IP & Litigation Director at Nouryon, a $5.19-billion international specialty-chemicals company based in Radnor, PA.
Before that, Mr. Gribbin was a patent litigator at Dechert LLP, where he gained extensive experience in Hatch-Waxman pharmaceutical trials and other patent litigations involving electronics, medical devices, and chemical-engineering processes.
While at Dechert, Mr. Gribbin was a core member of a trial team asserting a plaintiff’s display-technology patent in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. After a two-week trial, the jury awarded the plaintiff $45 million.
Similarly, Mr. Gribbin litigated three successful Hatch-Waxman patent trials on behalf of a plaintiff in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York and the District of Delaware. After each trial, the courts found infringement and/or no invalidity in favor of his team’s client, protecting over $2 billion of sales of a well-known blockbuster drug.
Mr. Gribbin also first-chair litigated a trademark-infringement case through a three-day jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The jury returned an infringement verdict in favor of his client on all counts.
Prior to his work as a litigator, Mr. Gribbin clerked for the Honorable Norma L. Shapiro in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. And prior to his legal career, Mr. Gribbin was a chemical engineer in the oil-refining industry.
