Biography
Vik Kaushal is a Pharmaceutical Litigation Specialist at Devlin Law Firm LLC, where he focuses on defense-side Hatch-Waxman and ANDA patent litigation, primarily in the District of Delaware and the District of New Jersey. He brings over a decade of experience in this practice area, having begun his career at Amneal Pharmaceuticals in 2014 as IP Litigation Manager after earning a Master's degree in Intellectual Property from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. Vik earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law's evening program while working full-time in-house at Amneal and, afterward, at the boutique patent litigation firm Pergament & Cepeda LLP. He first joined Devlin Law Firm as an IP Specialist during his last year of law school, working on software technologies that drew on his background as a computer science engineer.
Vik's non-traditional path into IP law gives him a distinctive perspective having worked in-house before working at a law firm setting. Vik also managed the patent portfolios — determining patentable subject matter, locating and interviewing inventors, drafting patent applications, and developing strategies for responding to office actions.
He is well versed in the practical realities of working across departments within a pharmaceutical company, including Regulatory Affairs and Research & Development, and has supported Business Development on licensing agreements.
Since joining Devlin Law Firm, Vik has worked on a range of significant patent litigations spanning the pharmaceutical, software, and electronics industries. He has also become an active contributor to business development for the firm's Pharmaceutical Litigation practice group — cultivating client relationships, maintaining connections with industry contacts, and helping bring new clients and work to the firm.
